Cath Today & Medical History Diagram

I'm heading into the hospital for a heart cath in a little bit and wanted to post this picture by Jeffrey D. Allred/Deseret News ©2009.

His photo completely captures our little family at Primary Children Medical Center. Eden is in the back showing my wife Lynnette a toy she loves. This is the 1st floor waiting room for labs on the southside.

Also, I've posted a diagram at the bottom of this blog showing hand drawn images of my heart when I was born and the progression of it's anatomy up to this day. It's fascinating to learn the function of the heart. What a magnificent creation!

Thanks again for everyone's continued support. We feel the power of your prayers and love.

  17. Hope things went well yesterday!
Did Dr. Cowley do the cath? He is our son's cardiologist now that Shaddy is gone, and we just adore him to pieces!

PS. I was talking to Michael Hicks the other day (his mom is my neighbor) and he told me the Lullaby CD was finally out. I've been anxiously waiting and told him how exicted I was and 1 day later his mom surprised me by bringing the CD over! LOVE IT...all of you guys are just fabulous!!! So talented.

  18. There is an irony in that room your photo was taken in. That room has had so many transformations over the years. And so has your heart!

That room used to be such a small, cramped space. Plain walls. It functioned, but not as well as it needed to as the community it services has grown. Over the years, there has been renovations, expansions. And the mural has taken time to be completed. But now just look at it!

My kids love that little ball flipper toy, too. Not sure what it is called. Sometimes they get mesmerized by the screens, but if that ball flipper toy is not being used, that is the first place they head.

Anyway, good luck with the cath.

  20. Paul,
You and Lynette and Eden have brought so much joy and hope to others. It is a joy to watch the love you share as a family. Sara commented on how your countenance is so peaceful and joyful as you and Lynette and Eden go through this experience. You have been an inspiration to me since the moment we met. The same feeling I had when we met and you were playing 'Dave's Farewell' is within my heart when I hear you play 'Gracie's Theme.' (Gracie is also the name of my one and only grandchild.) I am so grateful for you and Lynette and Eden and for your courageous example. Thank you for sharing this experience with so many. Our prayers are with you and all of your family always.
    With Love, Debbie Castleton
