The Blessings of Christmas

Two months ago all I could do is lay around because doctors were trying to figure out how to get my heart failure under control. I was in need of a serious tune up.

Whether it's a consequence or not, I was humbled to learn that my family, friends, fans of my music, and those I don't even know began praying for me.

I want everyone to know that God is good to me and loves you because for the past two weeks, as we get closer to Christmas I have felt great. Not 100%, but well enough to get out a few ours each day. Well enough, to make gingerbread houses with my kid. Well enough to laugh and enjoy this time of year. And it's because of prayer and the wisdom of my doctors that I am tuned up for a time. And what better time than Christmas!

Prayer is gift. Life is a gift. Family is a gift. And I am more than happy this particular time of year to celebrate the Birth of our Lord.

  1. Thank you Paul for the sweet reminder of our Savior's love for us. We hope you have more spurts of feeling good, and we continue to pray for you, Lynnette, and Eden.

  5. Paul - Rick and I purchased your CD "Living for Eden" awhile back and just wanted to say thanks - IT IS THE BEST CD. I'll be baking Christmas goodies in the kitchen or just chilln' at home and it brings such joy to our home. Thanks for sharing the uplifting music with us. We LOVE you!

  7. Merry Christmas!
Yesterday with the program including the choir accompanied by the piano, violins and flute just gives me the spirit and the feeling of Christmas (like listening to you). Hope you have a wonderful one!

  8. Paul, I recently purchased your 'The Christmas Box' album as a download from Amazon. I'd searched for instrumental Christmas music, your cd's were brought up so I listened to a few samples, liked what I heard and clicked the "buy" button. Now when I open my media player your music is first pick on my play list. I find it filled with your soul and emotions.

I wanted to learn more about you and your music so today I did a 'google' on your name and was immediately directed to your site. When I saw that you had a blog concerning your heart problem I instantly knew why I'd connected with your music.

God has a way tugging hearts in the direction he wants them to go and today he wanted me to know that I was not alone with life threatening illness at this most blessed season. He gave me you and your life to let me know that I *needed* to think about someone other than myself. (Thank you Lord...)

As with you, Father has given me a battle that has brought me to a place in my life where I have a lot of time to think and to reflect on life...every aspect of it. It can be a very sobering, yet WONDERFUL, experience. He has obviously given us both the ability to see His hand in our lives and is using them as testimony to and for others.

You and your family will be in my prayers often. I pray that God will continue to bless you with the strength needed to see you through what lays ahead. He has never failed to give me exactly what I need for each new day and I know He'll do the same for you.

May God bless your family this Christmas season, and may His grace be with you continually throughout the coming year.

Thank you for sharing your gift of wonderful music with us all.
